Privacy Policy

On my website Penrunners I process personal data. Of course, I do this with the utmost care and with an eye for your privacy. To give you insight into the processing of your data, I explain in this privacy statement which data I process and how I handle your data. Good to know: I will of course never provide your data to third parties without your permission, unless I am legally obliged to do so.
This privacy statement applies to every visitor of Penrunners.

Contact details

Processing of personal data

When you visit Penrunners, I cannot simply collect data (except your IP address) from you. This is only possible when you leave a comment or provide me with your data yourself.
The information I may collect from you is as follows:

  • name or pseudonym

  • email address

  • IP address

  • information about your activities on Penrunners

  • your internet browser and the device you use

  • the link to your website (optional!)

When you upload a photo with a comment on my site, it is possible to infer information about your gender or ethnicity, for example. That is not data that I will do anything with.
Furthermore, Penrunners does not intend to collect data from visitors under the age of 16. I only do this when they have received permission from their parents or guardians. However, I cannot check whether every visitor is over the age of 16. That is why I advise parents to monitor their children’s surfing behavior. This is to prevent the processing of data from minors without parental consent.
Do you believe that Penrunners has collected personal data from a minor without permission? Then send an e-mail to maduforo@penrunners.com. I will then delete that data immediately.

Purpose of the processing of personal data

Of course, Penrunners does not process your personal data without reason. You can read below for which purposes I process your personal data. I also state how long your data is stored for that purpose. The principle is that I do not store your data longer than is strictly necessary.

Email updates for new articles

Have you signed up to receive email updates as soon as a new article is published on Penrunners? Your name and email address will be stored for this purpose. I will only send you these email updates if you have explicitly signed up for them by providing your email address. I will store this information from the moment you sign up until you unsubscribe.
You can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to maduforo@penrunners.com. I will then immediately delete your information.

Comments on blog posts

When you leave a comment on Penrunners, you will be asked to leave your name and email address. You can also, if you have one, enter a link to your own website. This information is required to post your comment and will be stored as long as the article is online.
In addition, this information is used to send you a message if your comment has been responded to.
You can always email maduforo@penrunners.com if you want a comment to be removed or changed. I will then adjust or remove your information.

Contacting you

Only in a few cases will I contact you. This could be, for example, if you ask me in a comment to email you or if you have won a contest. In that case, I will use the email address you provided.
As soon as there is no longer a reason to store that data, I will delete your data immediately. In any case, I will store this data for a maximum of 12 months from the moment you provided it.
If you previously sent a request to maduforo@penrunners.com to delete your data, I will of course do so immediately.

Sharing personal data with third parties

Penrunners obviously does not sell your data to third parties. Your data will only be provided if necessary to meet our joint agreements or if I am required to do so by law. When Penrunners collaborates with companies that process your data in the context of Penrunners, a processing agreement has been concluded for this.
The responsibility for the processing of this data still lies with Penrunners.
This concerns the following companies:

  • Google (US): developer of Google Analytics, used to track visitor statistics;

  • Antagonist (Netherlands): hosting provider for Penrunners.com;

  • JetPack (US): plugin for WordPress.com services;

  • Askimet (US): application protecting Penrunners from SPAM comments.

Furthermore, Penrunners will only provide your personal data to third parties if you have given permission for this (for example, if you have won a contest).
